WELCOME TO ELGIN

The municipality of Elgin is unique: it's almost an island bordered on two sides by the Châteauguay and Trout rivers, and on the other side by the state of New York. It also boasts the oldest covered bridge in Canada (at least half of it, the other half belonging to Hinchinbrooke!) which is over 150 years old. Elgin is industrious: heritage and new farms, carpenters, business owners, painters, artists, and our own community center. Elgin is a place where people work hard, live, love, and laugh.
